Correspondence of the Clark family, 1876-1920.

The collection contains letters of William Meade Clark, Nannie D. Tapscott Clark, Emily Tapscott Clark Balch and William Bailey Sims, Jr., to and from family members, primarily about family matters. Most of William Sims' letters were written while he was a student at the University of Virginia, and some relate to the trial of Spottswood Dabney Crenshaw IV, charged with robbing and setting fire to the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory in 1917.
